Daniel ‘Sandy’ Bayer

Sandy Bayer has more than 25 years of experience using research to generate business and increase visibility for corporations and not-for-profit organizations. He has conducted research for clients on a variety of industry issues in financial services, manufacturing, media, consumer products, and real estate, as well as on cross-industry topics such as investment in emerging markets, corporate reputation, risk management, supply chains, and M&A.

Before founding Bayer Consulting in 1996, he served as vice president of the New York City Partnership and as chief of staff to the deputy mayor for finance and economic development in New York City.

He has a BA from the State University of New York at Binghamton, an MA from the University of Michigan, and a PhD from The Rockefeller University. He was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of London.

Rob Podhurst

Over the past 25 years, Rob Podhurst has managed numerous complex research projects for many major corporations including American Express, Chase, Coca Cola, and Microsoft, as well as for professional and trade associations.

He has expertise in a wide range of research methods including research design, questionnaire development, in-depth interviews, customer satisfaction studies, product/concept testing, and strategic market studies.

He has a BA and an MA from the State University of New York at Albany.

Jeff Skelton

Jeff Skelton has more than 10 years of experience in both quantitative and qualitative market research methodologies. He has worked on research projects in such areas as product development and optimization, pricing, segmentation, and customer satisfaction across multiple industries.


Karen Frankola


Karen Frankola has extensive experience conducting secondary research and writing on a variety of industries and issues including finance, technology, professional services, automotive, intellectual property, and human resources. She directed internal communications globally for Deloitte and was an editor and producer for both MSNBC and CNN. She has conducted projects for such organizations as Cisco, Pfizer, Morgan Stanley, and American Airlines, and her byline articles have appeared in Newsweek, Workforce, and Strategic Communication Management. She has an MA in media management from the University of Missouri.


Peter Haapaniemi

Peter Haapaniemi has written on such business topics as leadership, management, organizational change, information technology, and process improvement. His articles have appeared in numerous business publications including Chief Executive, dotCEO, Exec, Business Empowered, IP Business, On Board, and New York Lawyer.
